ResurRec Japan: photos of the new plant, presses read as new Pheenix AD12s

Four photos of ResurRec's new Japan plant (October 2026) filed in
docs/finance/resurrec-japan/. Revenue model gets a "ResurRec Japan"
section: what the photos show (visitor window, automatic presses in
aluminium cabinets that Alexander identifies as a new red AD12
generation, ceiling services, air-conditioned room, no plating in view),
what it changes (scaling abroad, Japan export wedge narrows, Classic vs
AD12 evidence, collaboration depends on their metal path) and open
questions. Also notes a directory listing naming an M-Tech Allegro II in
Bangkok against the tour's Newbilt Classic.

Mirrors: Pheenix sections in vendor-landscape, exhibitor questions and
supplier map; pressing-line AD12 paragraph; roadmap item 5; visitor
corridor in crane-workshop-tours; README status and layout.

## ResurRec Japan (October 2026)
ResurRec has opened a second plant, in Japan. Four photographs of it
reached the team in October 2026, filed in
[`resurrec-japan/`](resurrec-japan/). Where in Japan, since when and at
what capacity is not known, and nothing about it is published yet:
`resurrec.jp` is registered but showed only the hosting provider's
placeholder page (checked 26 October 2026). What the photos show:
- **A "ResurRec JAPAN" sign beside a window wall onto the press floor**
([photo](resurrec-japan/resurrec-japan_visitor-window.jpeg)): visitors
watch production from a corridor, the idea behind CNX's glazed
[visitor corridor](../crane-workshop-tours.md#3-visitor-corridor).
- **Automatic presses in aluminium-profile safety cabinets** with glass
doors, red frames and a touch panel on a swing arm, red hydraulic units
beside them, at least three press cabinets in view
([press floor](resurrec-japan/resurrec-japan_press-floor.jpeg),
[one press](resurrec-japan/resurrec-japan_press-cabinet.jpeg)). **Alexander
identifies them as a new Pheenix Alpha AD12.** What supports it: a
carton marked "PHEENIX AL..." stands in the foreground, the cabinet
layout matches the AD12 cabinet pictured on
[Pheenix's site](https://www.pheenixalpha.com/), and Pheenix supplies
one hydraulic pump unit per AD12. The site still shows the AD12 in grey,
so the red version would be a generation not yet published. Neither
ResurRec nor Pheenix has confirmed it. A close-up shows a record on a
turning table under a clamp with a hot-surface warning, which reads as
the trimming station (our reading;
[detail](resurrec-japan/resurrec-japan_press-detail.jpeg)).
- **Services from the ceiling**: insulated pipe runs with a drop,
pressure gauges and valves at each press, a stack light per press, in a
finished room with a suspended ceiling, track lights and a ceiling air
outlet, so the room is air-conditioned, unlike the Bangkok floor.
- No plating, cutting or packing area is in view. Whether the Japan plant
plates is unknown.
What it changes:
- **"They cannot scale inside an apartment" now holds for Bangkok only.**
ResurRec scaled by building abroad, with automatic presses in a
conditioned room. If the AD12 identification holds, three presses at
Pheenix's 24 to 26 s cycle (~140 records/h each, vendor figure)
nameplate at ~420 records/h, about twice the Bangkok pair's ~190 to
210/h above. That is installed capability, not output, and the table
above still counts Bangkok only.
- **The Japan part of the export wedge narrows.** The positioning above
counts regional labels shipping to Japan among CNX's market. ResurRec
now presses inside Japan, so Japanese labels, and Thai titles sold there
(HYBS's *Making Steak*, pressed by ResurRec, was also sold in Japan per
[Bandwagon, 2023](https://www.bandwagon.asia/articles/resurrec-boutique-vinyl-lab-records-music-bangkok-thailand-traithep-wongpaiboon-sarit-narukatpichai-interview-southeast-asia-press-2023)),
have a domestic option from the same company. Japan already had Toyo
Kasei, Sony and P-Vine's VGAP, which P-Vine called the fourth domestic
plant when it opened in 2024
([P-Vine, 24 July 2024](https://p-vine.jp/news/20240724-100048)).
- **An operator that runs Newbilt presses in Bangkok chose Pheenix for
Japan**, if the identification holds. If the Bangkok automatic is the
Newbilt Classic the tour identified (see the directory conflict above),
it is the most direct Classic-versus-AD12 evidence the plan has; the
AD12 is the comparison for the Classic in
[pressing line](../equipment/pressing-line.md). Why they chose it, and
what installation and service cost them in Japan, is worth asking in
the collaboration talks and on the Pheenix call.
- **The collaboration shape above depends on the metal path.** If the
Japan plant does not plate either, CNX's stampers and cut lacquers could
serve two ResurRec plants; if it does, ResurRec has its own metal path
and the stamper-supply offset shrinks.
Open questions: where the Japan plant is, since when, how many presses
and which, whether it plates, and whether Bangkok keeps its orders or
volume work moves to Japan.
## Pricing assumptions (what a pressing plant charges)
Typical Western pressing-service prices run roughly **2.90 to 5.80+ USD**
